Comments:
NOTES: Herpotrichia nypicola appears to be known only from the original collection on Nypa fruticans collected at Kuala Selangor mangrove, Malaysia (Schmit & Shearer 2003). There are no cultures and it needs to be recollected, isolated and sequenced to confirm its placement in Herpotrichia. The genus comprises circa 101 species all terrestrial with the exception of H. nypicola (Wijayawardene et al. (2017). In Jones et al. (2015) this species was paced in the Lophiostomataceae. However, Wijayawardene et al. (2017) show it groups in the Melanommataceae, although the type species has not been sequenced (Wijayawardene et al. 2012).
