NOTES: This species was described by Barghoorn & Linder (1944) and has been little cited in the literature (Abdel–Wahab 2012). Mainly reported from drift wood, text panels and sediments (Abdel–Wahab 2012). Pawar & Borse (2005) reported it from India East Coast, West Bengal on intertidal wood of Sonneratia apetala.
